Introduction:
Romance goes Awry

The younger residents of the Hinata apartments, wanting to see what all fuss is about decide to try their hand at kissing. But, with Kaolla involved, it's anything but normal.

Meanwhile, a crisis has hit the apartments! They all need to get part-time jobs to come up with the rent money. After a round of serious bickering, they all agree to do what they have to & Keita winds up getting a job with a man from Naru's past...

A man for whom she once had very strong feelings.

Their reunion is interrupted by the discovery of an ancient turtle civilization underneath the town. How dangerous could an ancient turtle civilization be? You don't want to know!

And finally, after all this, the group puts on a play of the famous "Journey to the West", the legend of Son Goku. Martial arts, puppets, treachery, tanks & talking horses - this play has it all.

Contains Episodes:
  • Episode 13: The First Kiss Tastes Like Lemon? Marshmallow? Grown up
  • Episode 14: Naru's Crush Is Now a Tokyo U Professor: Turning Into Love?
  • Episode 15: I Love You! Romantic Confession Inside a Cave: Tall Tale
  • Episode 16: Monkey Performance at the Seaside Teahouse Hinata: A Kiss?

  • Feature Presentation:
Here is another volume of Love Hina & it's getting alot mess up. The Hinata apartments are full of surprises! Now, it's all the kissing rage at the Hinata apartments, about their first kiss. Make you think when you got your first kiss, huh? Next, everyone are broke & need to find a part-time job. Then, it's you get to meet someone that it's in Naru's past. You might noticed that you saw him before in a earlier episode, but you got no clue who he is. He is an odd & strange guy. Keitaro's relationship with Naru is keep getting stranger. Won't they ever confess their true feeling? The last episode of this DVD is my favorite, everyone at the Hinata acts a small play in the Hinata Seaside Teahouse. I find it really cute, especially the ending. Naru is really hot!

    Video:
Since it's totally CGI, the image is very very clear. I find no problem at all. It's sharp & the colors are so bright. Bandai Entertainment have really done a good job releasing it! Again, skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc by hitting "menu" on your remote. All the episodes are divided in 4 parts, introduction, part one, part two & ending.

    Audio 01: English 2.0:
The English track is now almost the same as the Japanese track. No more volume adjustments! Though, it's about 80% of the original Japanese. Dubbing is great!

    Audio 02: Japanese 2.0:
The Japanese track volume is now the same as the English track.

    Subtitle:
There are 2 tracks for subtitling, one is only for the subtitle of items that is shown in Japanese symbol, the other one is the actually subtitle for the Japanese audio track, as well as the items. I wonder why they keep using green for the subtitle for opening & ending theme. I guess you're going to have to get use to it.

    Menu Option:
Bandai Entertainment did made a change in the menu. Nothing much, when you enter the menu, you will notice that they added curtains going upward. However, the rest remains the same. It's just a picture of the Hinata Apartment in the background. The other side, in a heart, there are 3 screenshots above, below, to select your options. There is the play all, language setting, the extra & select your scene from what episode, which is numbered 13 to 16. The only thing that might be annoying is that the main theme keep playing again & again! If you wait a little bit, you will get something flying across ths menu & it's loaded with more animation.

    DVD Extras:
I think the extras keep changing, I find this one the best. "Keitaro's Sketchbook" isn't there anymore, replace by "The Making Of Love Hina", hosted by Wendee Lee (voice actress of Kaolla Su). "Character Photo Gallery" is now with Kitsune, a profile of her as well as screenshots. The rest are trailers for other Anime & the credit list of the DVD.

    Packaging:
The style is the same. This volume shows Keitaro & Kitsune. The back is really highly detailed, Cute pictures everywhere, some screenshots. Plus, the DVD case is a clear one, so when you open it up, you can actually see behind the cover, which can be really a small poster about the play, "Journey To The West", they did in the last episode of this DVD. The DVD disc cover itself is the same as the cover.

    PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. The movie is place on one single track as you play the episodes, so loading time is really small, you can zip through all the episodes in one shot. Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.

    Overall DVD Rating:
Things get more complex, kissing, a guy pop up from Naru's past & Kitsune tried to help out, but that didn't work. Won't we ever find out who is Keitaro made that promise to?

    Feature Presentation: It's getting stranger!
Video (Images) Behold the power of DVD, crisps & clear! No problem found.
Audio 01: English 2.0 Dubbing is great, almost similar to the Japanese version.
Audio 02: Japanese 2.0 The audio problem is now fixed, I think.
Subtitle: English A little bit more bolded, please!
Menu Option: If you like to hear the main theme over & over, you can!
DVD Extras: The making of Love Hina is really cool!
Packaging: Very very cool DVD case! Once of the nicest I have seen.
PC Viewing: Easy to view, clean, no problem!
Overall DVD Rating: If you come this far, watch the rest!
