Central Park Media is repricing many of their DVD releases in 2006. Yu Yu Hakusho: The Movie - Poltergeist Report will be available on January 31, 2006 & will priced at 9.95$US. Bandai Entertainment have announced the release Scrapped Princess, a new fantasy adventure series from famed animation studio, BONES studios (Cowboy Bebop the Movie, Wolf's Rain, Full Metal Alchemist). Geneon Entertainment have annouced that they have the lisences for Viewtiful Joe, for the games, television & home video releases. There isn't any set of time when it will be release for North America viewers, but to what I heard that this is the next best thing coming to Anime.

Disney DVD has finally release the three movies made by Studio Ghibli, the creator of Princess Mononoke, Castle In The Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service & Spirited Away. They will be release on Febuary 22, 2005. Be sure to add them to your collection!

ShoPro Entertainment has announced its acquisition of North American television, home video & merchandising rights to the Naruto anime series from its parent company Shueisha Inc. & TV Tokyo Corporation. ShoPro Entertainment has functioned as a North American licensing intermediary company & has never actually distributed anime itself. The official press release states that ShoPro Entertainment will, "leverage... [Naruto]... into a broad licensing & marketing program. Naruto's television broadcast partner & key licensing partners will be determined shortly." However, ShoPro Entertainment recently announced its merger with affiliate company Viz LLC. So while it is clear that the Naruto anime series has not been confirmed for American television broadcast yet, it's not clear yet if Viz will be distributing the series on home video or if home video rights will be sublicensed to an as yet undetermined distributor.

Bandai Entertainment announced on January 31, 2005 in Tokyo, Japan that they has joined forces with several companies in Japan to produce an all new original television animation series titled "Eureka Seven", set to air every Sunday at 7:00 AM on Japan's MBS/TBS national network beginning April 17th. A total of 11 partners are involved in the "Eureka Seven" project with the television series being the core, there will also be various product development, & other media related expansions set to fire-up this new project. The story of "Eureka Seven" centers on Renton, a young man who occasionally helps out his father as a mechanic. But Renton's feelings of dissatisfaction & frustration grows as his mundane & routine work clouds his visions for his future & begins to dream about flying around the world. It isn't until one day, a large human-like mech falls from the sky in front of young Renton & appearing from the depths of the machine is a beautiful young girl named Eureka. As she asks the dumbfounded Renton for repairs, the two will embark upon a fantastic journey into the unknown. There is no official date for the North America release. Samples are below...

ADV Films have announced the release of Noir, RahXephon, & Full Metal Panic! in brand new high definition collector's volumes. Look for these exciting 2-disc volumes of each series to hit the shelves throughout 2005. Through the use of Windows Media High Definition Video (WMV HD), movies can now be viewed on computers with DVD drives, as well as on many new set-top DVD & digital media players, with amazing quality & resolution up to 6 times higher than that of today's standard DVD! In addition, movies pack a whole new punch with crystal clear DTS Surround Sound audio. This new DVD high definition collector's releases will feature a two disc volumes of each series. The first DVD of each volume will contain the feature presented in new WMV HD video format & Windows Media Audio Professional to be played on Windows Media Player 9 or 10 & WMV HD compatible DVD players. The second DVD will feature a brand new DTS 5.1 audio track to accompany the Dolby 5.1 audio mix & standard definition video feature. Something to check out, it was release on January 11, 2005, (PS2) Full Metal Alchemist for the PS2 RPG game is release. This is base on the hit Anime series, Full Metal Alchemist. I haven't got a copy for myself to test yet, but so far, it's quite amazing.
