Eva. Evangelion. Neon Genesis Evangelion. Shin Seiki Evangelion. No matter which name it goes by, fans alike recognize this title as one of the most phenomenally popular & controversial anime series of all time, with its non-conventional storylines, intriguing characters, top-notch animation & magnetizing music. While the series is over, the captivating music still remains, with the Neon Genesis Evangelion OST bringing all of those powerful tunes back to the forefront. This CD has 23 tracks of various music styles (J-POP, orchestral score, country, jazz, etc.) designed to grab & hold the listener's attention & features the highly energetic opening song "Cruel Angel's Thesis" & the signature ending theme "Fly Me to the Moon".

If you're looking for the OST of this series, look no further. Finally, the first Neon Genesis Evangelion OST have been release in North America. This series is still one of the best & one of my favorites, now you can get the chance to listen the awesome music that bring this Anime to life. On this volume, there is a total of 23 tracks, with the director's cut version of the introduction theme (Track 01), Cruel Angel's Thesis, and, of course, the famous Fly Me To The Moon. There are two version of that song (Track 21 & 23) on this CD. The rest are background music. It will make you want to go back & see the series all over again. All of them are easily recognizable. You get all the Eva's themes (Track 13, 15 & 17), along with the music when the Angels are attacking (Track 03) to when Unit 01 is first launch. Even Ritsuko's theme (Track 07) & Misato's theme (Track 08) are there, too.

I find no problem listening to the music. The tracks are well separated.

Since this Anime CD is a domestic release, it got almost the same as the original Japanese packaging, except with a few English adaptation changes. I want to note that I owned the original Japanese version of this soundtrack, so I know it for a fact. There is a few changes, like different font & size have been used. It might be because it need to be fit just nicely, while keeping as much of the original Japanese design. On the cover, you see Shinji with his Eva, Unit 01, phazing it together. In the back, you get a screenshot when Unit 01 emerging out of an explosion. If you seen the series, you might know where this shot was taken from. You might noticed that Geneon Anime Music started to use their new logo! Easy to read track listing. The insert is really cool. You got lots of screenshots from the series, along with commentary from the director, assistant directors, as well the music composer. This is great information for Evangelion fans. Also, there is the cast list & yes, both English translation & original Japanese text lyrics for the introduction theme, Cruel Angel's Thesis, & the lyrics for Fly Me To The Moon. On the CD disc itself, just blueish background, track listing with the NERV logo on the right side. Since the CD case is a clear one, you will see a purple NERV logo at the center & a little note explaing the company "Star Child".

This is a must have Anime OST CD. If you didn't see the series, get it anyways & then watch the series! It's pack with cool music that makes you want to go back & see the series. Just listening it will make you remember key moments that make this series so popular! Not only that, you will support Geneon Anime Music on releasing more Anime CDs in the near future.
