Introduction:
Leading a full orchestra ensemble, Evangelion maestro Shiro Sagisu has created another rich, rewarding listening experience for EVA fans with "Neon Genesis Evangelion OST: Volume 02". There are 25 striking tracks that lend an aura of adrenaline-charged anxiety, unbridled exhilaration, impending dread, & calm, dream-like passages, many of which are the signature music pieces found in some of the most memorable scenes in Evangelion. In addition to the instrumentals, there are seven great vocal songs, including "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" (the TV size opening song), "A Vision", "Fly Me to the Moon" (the TV size closing song), & four alternate versions of the ending song. Another essential CD for all EVA fans!

Music Presentation:
Special thanks to Geneon Anime Music for sending a copy for a review for this site. This is one of many Anime CDs that are domestic release. Finally, volume two have arrived with another set of awesome music from hit series, Neon Genesis Evangelion. You will get another 25 tracks on this release. Like before, it's a mix of vocals & alot of background music from the series, with the exception of one. The vocals are Track 02, which is the original TV size introduction theme, along with, not one, but 5 different version of "Fly Me To The Moon", Track 20, 21, 22, 24 & 25. Of course, all of them have been used for the ending credits of the series. Track 01, you might not have heard it from the series, but I think it's from the Evangelion game. Girlfriend Of Steel. The rest is background music & all of them are easily recognizable, like Track 07, when Shinji & Asuka goes dancing with the Eva. That is my favorite music on this CD. Maybe Track 12 is when NERV get ready for battle or Track 14 when Asuka takes a drive in a lavapit to capture an Angel. I'm sure you can remember those scenes by listening to the music!

Audio 2.0:
I find no problem listening to the music. The tracks are well separated.

Packaging:
Since this Anime CD is a domestic release, it got almost the same as the original Japanese packaging, except with a few English adaptation changes. I want to note that I owned the original Japanese version of this soundtrack, so I know it for a fact. There is a few changes, like different font & size have been used. It might be because it need to be fit just nicely, while keeping as much of the original Japanese design. On the cover, you see the beautiful Rei Ayanami. In the back, a little different, more relaxing, it's Pen-Pen looking out the window at the full moon. You might noticed that Geneon Anime Music started to use their new logo! Easy to read track listing. The insert is really cool. You got lots of screenshots from the series, along with commentary from the producer & design notes of two of the Angels of the series. This is great information for Evangelion fans. Also, there is the cast list & yes, both English translation & original Japanese text lyrics for all the vocals on this CD, A Vision, Cruel Angel's Thesis, & the lyrics for Fly Me To The Moon. On the CD disc itself, the design fellows the same as the first volume, just purple background, track listing with the NERV logo on the right side. Since the CD case is a clear one, you will see a green NERV logo at the center & a little note explaing the company "Star Child".

Overall CD Rating:
This is a must have Anime OST CD. If you didn't see the series, get it anyways & then watch the series! I'm sure by now you for the first volume, so why not get this one, too? This CD features more music from the series, along with one song from an Evangelion game. Not only that, you will support Geneon Anime Music on releasing more Anime CDs in the near future.

Music Presentation: Pack with more awesome music for this hit series!
Audio 2.0: No problem detected!
Packaging: Just like the original Japanese release! Very cool insert!
Overall CD Rating: It is a must have Anime CD OST!
