Introduction:
Together For the First Time...

Miyabi, Tina & now Taeko. These are the girls living in the Sakuraba Mansion with Kaoru & Aoi that are not Kaoru's girlfriends! While Kaoru succeeds in remaining faithful, the misunderstandings & challenges from these girls & the crazy situations they experience may still lead to bodily injury for our hero. Between ferrets & wild bathhouse parties, clumsy housekeepers & romantic evenings alone with women you are trying not to date, Kaoru can't stay out of trouble! Then again, his pain is our entertainment...

Contains Episodes:
  • Episode 06: Family Tradition
  • Episode 07: Spiritual Illusion
  • Episode 08: Cherished Treasure
  • Episode 09: One Night
  • Episode 10: Place of Learning

Feature Presentation:
Special thanks to Geneon Entertainment for sending a copy for a review for this site. Poor Kaoru, leaving in the same roof with Aoi, the wild Tina teasing him, Miyabi giving him a hard time, & now, Taeko comes into the scene. I say, what a lucky guy! Kaoru is adapting to his new life, but somehow, he got more what he bargains for. He tries so hard to remains loyal to Aoi, but he is a man after all. Taeko do her best to get a job at the Sakuraba mansion, however, she falls into trouble, but everyone is helping her out. Then, Aoi was invited to a get away with the gang of the photo club, which got a little crazy as Taeko is off to take a picture of a ghost, a photo club ritual for new members! Then, Tina try to sneak a ferret, but Miyabi is the only one that doesn't want it around, but it all worked out at the end, but it's pretty funny how a little animal can cause so much trouble, but help out in the end! Also, Aoi went to Kaoru's college for the first time & she almost got lost! Will Kaoru be the hero of the day? Still the same cuteness of Aoi, naughts bits that will make you laugh & sweet parts that make you fall in love with the series.

Video:
Geneon Entertainment did a very great job, again. I found no problem, the image are clear & the color looks perfect. There is some watermarks done for the introduction & ending credits (they are translated in English). Since all the episodes are on one single track on the DVD, there is no loading time or changing tracks when you move on to the next episode. Each episode is split into 5 parts: introduction, part A, part B, ending & the preview! Oh, they did change something, you may finally skip the warning & logos by pressing the menu button on your remote straight to the menu.

Dubbing: English:
The English dubbing is well done. They even capture the emotions & impacts during certain parts of the series. The dialogue even includes Japanese terms, like "chan" or "sama". This way, Geneon Entertainment can get it to be as close to the Japanese dialogue, since its mostly involve Japanese culture. Tina's voice is pretty interesting, as they try to make her, well, American, maybe too much, but it does suit the role. It's about 85% of the original Japanese.

Subtitle:
Geneon Entertainment did change the font, it's not the same as the first volume, it's a little more bold, but I find it way better to read & easier! However, since the first volume is a pre-release, I'm not sure if they changed it! They use green for the introduction & ending themes, white for any text subtitling & yellow for the dialogues. One track is for the sign subtitling & the other one is for the Japanese dialogue. I wonder why they didn't fellow the subtitling of the introduction & ending theme like the first volume. This time, the even episodes have the intro & ending subtitles are in English, while the odd numbered episodes are in Japanese original text.

Menu Option:
It's the same style as the first volume, except, this time it's what you see when you throw a rock in a pond when the menu loads up, as well when you selected any options. The photo album does change with images from the episodes on this volume. It also looks like it's raining. There is the "Play All", "Screen Access", "Set Up" & "Extras". The background music is different then the first one, it's the song that Kaoru's mother sung to him, which is really nice. However, it's only for the main menu, there is no music playing in the other screen section.

DVD Extras:
Well, you get to have the non-credit opening & the original Japanese credit opening as well. It also have an art gallery of Tina & Miyabi. I wonder why there is an unofficial trailer there, but it's pretty cool.

Packaging:
Another colorful DVD design. You get to see the girls that Kaoru is living with, Miyabi, Tina, Taeko & Aoi. In the back, you get some screenshots of the series. The insert matches the rest of the packaging. The insert have the chapter list with a screenshot from each episode, itself, carries the same design as the first volume, however, with a different flower, with a transparent background. It would be nice if it was colorful as the rest of the design. Since the DVD case is a clear one, you get to see the reversible cover, which is a really sexy one, with Aoi, Tina & Taeko in the bath! Really sexy!

PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. The episodes are place on one single track as you play the episodes, so loading time is really small. You can fast forward to the first episode to the last episode with one move on your mouse! Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.

Overall DVD Rating:
If you enjoy the first volume, keep going. Again, if you like to watch a love story & have a few laugh, this series would suit you. I do recommend to watch it with someone you love & care.
