Feature Presentation:
Special thanks to Geneon Entertainment for sending a copy for a review for this site. After a wild time with a scary story & playing games, it's off to the beach & it's like a get together with everyone. Yup, you get all to see the cute girls all in swimsuits. What a relaxing day, sort of! Chi get to learn many more things & get cuter & cuter! Later on, Ms. Shimizu ends up coming over at Hideki's place & what a mess that was, but how does she knows Hideki little secret! She seem to be sad with something, but you finally find out something about her more personnal. Yes, you will go like: "what the...?". At last, Hideki is really getting into trouble. He is a good guy after all, but his grade is failing off! Now he is studying like crazy, but he lost his wallet! Now he can't eat. Chi tries her best to help him out, but she doesn't know how. It's really cute when she tries her best! You will get alot of laugh when Hideki gets up in the morning! This volume finally get the first half of the series done & you will get a new ending theme, which I don't like that song much. It's sound really depressing for some odd reason.
Video:
Geneon Entertainment did a very great job, just like the first volume. I found no problem, the image are clear & the color looks perfect. To top things off, the series is feature on Widescreen format. If you got a Widescreen TV, you're going to enjoy this even more. Each episode are split into 5 parts, introduction, part A, part B, ending & preview for the next episode. Since all the episodes are on one single track on the DVD, there is no loading time or changing tracks when you move on to the next episode. However, if you use the auto-replay track option, it will not work, it will just go back to the menu. I do note that you can skip all those warnings & logos when you first load the DVD by just pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control.
Dubbing: English:
The English dubbing is well done. The dubbing is the same style. The dialogue even includes Japanese terms, like "seipai". Geneon Entertainment left them so it can be as close to the Japanese dialogue. However, they did change the dialogue a bit, but it seems alright. It's about 85% of the original Japanese.
Audio 01: English 2.0:
No problem found.
Audio 02: Japanese 2.0:
No problem found.
Subtitle:
As the other volumes, Geneon Entertainment is using the same great font, very easy to read. However, they seem to change the color for the introduction & ending theme subtitles for the lyrics into light blue. I think the green they used in the other volume is better. The rest remains the same, yellow for the dialogue & white for Japanese signs & text. There are two tracks of subtitling. One track is for the sign subtitling & the other one is for the Japanese dialogue. I might note that every odd numbered episodes, the intro & ending subtitles are in English, while the even numbered episodes are in Japanese original text on this volume.
Menu Option:
The menu is also in widescreen format, but if got just a regular full screen TV, it will display in that format with no problem. As before, you log in when Chi powers up. It's very simple & clean. The menu design remains the same, except it's another picture of Chi wearing a swimsuit, holding out Sumomo. There is the "Play All", a selection of one of the 4 episodes, "Screen Access", "Set Up" & "Extras". Selecting any options, except if you pick the episodes directly, you will get a little computer changing animation. As the previous volume, you will get some sound effects in the background, like computer sounds. Though, I perfer having the main theme like the first two volumes of this series playing in the music background! The other section has no backgound music or sound.
DVD Extras:
Another set of the same extra, but just different content. This time, you will get the original Japanese ending theme #1. Also, there is an art gallery, again with just 5 images, though, they aren't screenshots!
Packaging:
The package carries the same style as the other volumes, this time, it's purple. It's another artwork of Chi, trying to eat cherries, wearing a matching red dress. Oh, she is so cute. In the back, just a few screenshots, one from each episode on this volume, along with the same picture as the cover. The insert is all pictures from the beach! You will get an episode list & no, it's not a chapter list. Inside the insert is a mini-poster with the cute Chi in her swimsuit! Since the DVD case is a clear one, you get to see a very all the girls in their swimsuits! To top things off, the insert match right up with it! On the DVD disc itself, it's a purple background with Sumomo in her swimsuit on the right side, doing her warm up exercise!
PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. The episodes are place on one single track as you play the episodes, so loading time is really small. You can fast forward to the first episode to the last episode with one move on your mouse! Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.
Overall DVD Rating:
Now the series is at the mid-point. Though, I don't like the new ending theme, but I sitll get my fun & laugher out of this cute series!
