Introduction:
Fall arrives, but pint-sized Mika-Sensei & her students can't seem to get the lazy days of summer out of their systems. What better way to get into the swing of school then with the excitement of casting the play for the Cultural Festival? Before Mika-sensei can even blink, romance fills the air as Valentine's Day approaches, leaving her to wonder who will be her valentine. Fireworks erupt amongst her students with all their secret crushes & gifts!

Contains Episodes:
  • Episode 05: Summer Ends & Artistic Autumn Arrives
  • Episode 06: The Culture Festival is the Festival of Culture
  • Episode 07: Santa Girl & New Years' Fun
  • Episode 08: Winter Has Come & Spring is Around the Corner

Feature Presentation:
Special thanks to Geneon Entertainment for sending a copy for a review for this site. We're back with more episodes of the cute class of Mika-Sensei, the teacher who looks like a kid, bit actually she is in her mid-20s. After the summer break is over, as we all went through, it's quite hard to get to the groove of going back to classes & study once again. As Mika-Sensei tries to get her class into study mode, she went on letting them reading old literature books. However, that didn't went well. If that doesn't work, it's time for an art class. Before we know it, it's time for the annual Cultural Festival. Mika-Sensei & her class decided to do a play, which the cast is hilarious. We don't get to see the play though, but it would be hilarious if we could. There is one good news, the Manga Club finally got a new member, but it causes more problem then helping the club. What's more, more holidays to Christmas, New Year down to Valentine's Day! Cute, sweet & all entertaining...

Video:
Geneon Entertainment did a very great job, again. I found no problem, the image are clear & the color looks perfect. There is some watermarks done for the introduction & ending credits (they are translated in English). Since all the episodes are on one single track on the DVD, there is no loading time or changing tracks when you move on to the next episode. Each episode is split into 4 parts: introduction, part A, part B & ending! I do note that you can skip the warnings & logos in the beginning using the "Menu" button on your remote.

Dubbing: English:
The English dubbing is well done. I have a feeling that the voices are new batches of voice actors & actresses. The dialogue left also, well, the "Sensei" term, as in teacher in direct translation, which is great. This way, Geneon Entertainment can get it to be as close to the Japanese dialogue, since its mostly involve Japanese schooling. It's about 85% of the original Japanese.

Audio 01: English 2.0:

Subtitle:
Geneon Entertainment have selected a great font, easy to read, though a little small. They use green for the introduction & ending themes, white for any text subtitling & yellow for the dialogues. One track is for the sign subtitling & the other one is for the Japanese dialogue. I might note that every even numbered episodes, the intro & ending subtitles are in English, while the odd numbered episodes are in Japanese original text. Once again, there isn't any subtitle for the introduction & ending theme for the English track subtitle is on, so you must switch the Japanese subtitle track to get them.

Menu Option:
The menu remains the same. It starts off as Mika-Sensei writing the menu on a school board. There, you see Mika-Sensei & her students flipping on the menu screen with a very flashly background, which make you crazy. There is the "Play All", "Screen Access", "Set Up" & "Extras". The music, well, I really got no clue where it's from, but I'm sure it's from the series. Honestly, the music is more of the annoying side. The other section don't have any background music.

DVD Extras:
This time, it's just the non-credit Ending, along with the original Japanese credit Ending, too. There isn't much then that.

Packaging:
Well, even though the release is a bit off, but it's still cute. On the cover, you see Mika-Sensei in the Santa suit for the Christmas holiday. In the back, there are screenshots, with green as the main color. The insert is pretty simple, with a list of episodes, along with the next volumes coming out & the same image as the cover. On the DVD disc itself, it's the same image as the cover. The DVD case is white, perfect for the colorful cover.

PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. The episodes are place on one single track as you play the episodes, so loading time is really small. You can fast forward to the first episode to the last episode with one move on your mouse! Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.

Overall DVD Rating:
Well, after the summer breask has passed, we're getting back to class. We're all going through all the events & holidays! It's all in the day works for teachers & students during the year, to the Cultural Festival, the Manga exposition, Christmas, New Year & Valentine's Day all in this volume. Sometimes, it make you feel that you missed high school days. Just sit back & enjoy...
