Feature Presentation:
Special thanks to ADV Films for sending a copy for a review for this site. It's back, more new adventures of Hello Kitty. It's been a very long time that I have seen Hello Kitty. Honestly, I'm too old for it, but it was a little fun to watch something that brings me back when I was a kid. You might recongized the stories used, but in a Hello Kitty version of it, such as Snow White & Little Red Ridding Hood. Others are a little different from the original story.
Video:
ADV Films did a very great job. I found no problem, the image are clear & the color looks perfect. There is some watermarks done for the introduction & ending credits (they are translated in English). The strange thing is that there are two episodes in one, with one opening & one ending at the end for both of them. However, each of them have a part A & part B. The episodes are on a different track, so there will be a small loading time when you move on to the next episode in every two episode. I do note that you can skip all those warnings & logos when you first load the DVD by just pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control.
Dubbing: English:
I know that Hello Kitty have been release & dubbed by another company before ADV Films release, so I know the dubbing cast will be different. The voices are alright, maybe just a little annoying because it tends to try to be as cute the original. To top it off, they even dubbed the introduction theme as well, which I find quite pleasing to listen. I say about 80% accuracy of the original Japanese version.

Subtitle:
ADV Films have selected a great font, very easy to read. They use yellow for the introduction, ending themes & the Japanese dialogue & white for Japanese signs & text. There are two tracks of subtitling. One track is for the sign subtitling & the other one is for the Japanese dialogue. Also, there is no need for any subtitling for the indroduction & ending theme, as the songs are dubbed already. I might note that every odd numbered episodes, the intro & ending subtitles are in English, while the even numbered episodes are in Japanese on this volume.
Menu Option:
The menu is pretty simple. You get to see Hibari's Pata-Pi Densuke, on a pile of books, along with a blue version of of him in the background. There isn't a "Play All" feature, nor a "Screen Access" or a "Extras" (though it's on the main menu), just a selection of one of the 8 episodes & "Set Up". The layout is set that way so it's quite easy for children to select the episodes they want to see. The background music is the main theme.
DVD Extras:
Since this DVD is aim for children, there is nothing much then a non-credot opening & ending.
Packaging:
There is a cute package. On the cover, you see Hellow Litty with a bee sitting together. In the back, you will see a few screenshots, along with friends of Hellow Kitty that you get to meet. There isn't really anything special on the insert, just promotional for other Hello Kitty DVD & VHS releases. On the DVD itself, it's the same as the cover pattern.
PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. Since the episodes are on different tracks (for every two episodes), it will take time to load when you move on to the next episode. Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.
Overall DVD Rating:
This is perfect for children & Hello Kitty fans alike.
