From studio Gainax (Evangelion), which production by Toshimichi Otsuki (Slayers, Nadesico) & chief direction & story by Hideaki Anno (Evangelion) comes a high-tension story of the heartbreaking rivalries of a first love.

It's the first summer vacation of their high school lives & that means time apart for our two young lovebirds. While Arima is off training hard for the national Kendo Tournament, Yukino is trying hard to just be herself & relax with her first real friends. Unfortunately her sunny days of relaxation come to an abrupt halt when Tsubasa announces she's running away from home. It seems another woman has invaded her father's heart & now he wants to marry the harlot against her wishes! Dragged into the middle of the girl's family problems, can Yukino help Tsubasa mend the rift with her father, or will she end up losing her new friend?

In this volume, you get to know more about Tsubasa Shibahime & her problems about her father thinking of getting remarried. You get to understand why Tsubasa acts like a spoiled brat. You will get to meet Tsubasa's father, as well the "other woman" & his son, Kuzuma. You get to see that every family is different & have their own way finding happiness together. However, you might get a little boring watching Episode 14 & 15, those episodes are dedicated for a summary that everything that happen from Episode 01 to 13, for all of those you can't remember what's going on. The last episode, you get to meet Yukino's grandfather from her mother side. It's really funny. You will get to see part of Yukino's parents & how they met, how they grew up together. It's really sweet.

Since this series was made by the team of "Evangelion", can you spot the "Evangelion" theme? The ending credit remains the same, the camera move in an actual Japanese school & other Japanese landmarks. After that, a "Preview" of what to come on the next episode, done by 2 of the original cast of the series in real-life.

The quality remains the same as the first one, very clear & smooth, no problem at all. Right Stuf International did a really good job. They kept most of the feature that was on the first volume. You can use your DVD player "Angle" option. You can switch between the original Japanese text during the introduction & the title screens. Plus, this option can let you switch between different version of the "Preview" on the next episode, which is done by the real-life voice actress, between the Japanese cast & the English cast. Though, there is one thing I wonder, there are only recaps for the first two episodes. By the way, you can skip all those warnings & logos when you first load the DVD by just pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control.

I find the dubbing really well done. It's about 85% of the original Japanese.

Well, English track isn't the default on this DVD. You still have to switch it if you want to watch it in English. Very clear & no problem at all.

The Japanese track is the default track. It's great that both Japanese track & English track are at the same volume, so I don't have to adjust the volume of the TV while changing the tracks.

It still have the same format. There are 6 tracks for subtitling, which the first 3 in English, the last 3 are in Spanish. First subtitling track only subtitle the Japanese talking, the second one is only for translating Japanese text that is shown during the episode, & the third one is both talking & translating. The last 3 tracks are the Spanish, the same function as the first 3. The subtitle are white, clean & easy to read, except in some parts when the background is really bright.

I guess the menu won't change, still the same one. The clips are only in the first volume. The menu is really simple. It's just a picture of the main characters in the background with a sweet piano music. On the bottom, there are 4 buttons, "Play All", "Scene Selection", "Extras" & "Language Setting". The Scene selection is pretty well organize. They are separated by episode, then by section per episode, intro, recap, part one, part two, mid-episode, ending & preview of the next episode.

There isn't much extras. You get more characters' bios, translation notes & production notes. Voice Actor Interviews seem pretty cool, except that it's only in Japanese version cast. I wonder why they didn't do an interview of the English cast. It would be cool to have both.

The package is pretty simple. On the cover is Kuzuma & Tsubasa together. Again, it comes with a clear DVD case, I wonder why they didn't print anything behind so you can actually see what is written on the back when you open the case. In the back, it's a yellow background with some school supplies, one screen shot Tsubasa's father & Kuzuma's mother. The DVD disc cover itself is the same as the cover.

Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. The episodes are on different tracks on the DVD, so it have a small pause when it move to the next episode. Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.

Well, if you reach this far, keep in going. It's loads of laughing fun. This series will keep on touching your heart.
