Feature Presentation:
Special thanks to Geneon Entertainment for sending a copy for a review for this site. Finally, things have reach to a boiling point & all things have to end. Koshiro has decided to move out of the house, as he fears that the feelings he has for Nanoka is not natural to have. Both of them promise not to see each other again, for their own sake. Koshiro hopes that these feelings will go away in time, but in the end, it only makes things worse. As time goes by, each other them want to see each other again, but Koshiro tries very hard to avoid Nanoka, as she started secretly visiting his apartment. Now, face to face, Koshiro & Nanoka can't hold their feelings together & their decision between them will change their lives forever...
Video:
Geneon Entertainment did a very great job. I found no problem, the image are clear & the color looks perfect. To top things off, the series is feature on Widescreen format. If you got a Widescreen TV, you're going to enjoy this even more. There is some watermarks done for the introduction & ending credits (they are translated in English). Each episode are split into 5 parts, introduction, part A, part B, ending & the preview for the next episode. However, the last episode doesn't have a preview & kept its original Japanese credits during the introduction. I do note that you can skip all those warnings & logos when you first load the DVD by just pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control.
Dubbing: English:
The dubbing is really well done, they suit the characters. It's about 85% of the original Japanese.
Audio 01: English 2.0:
No problem found.
Audio 02: Japanese 2.0:
No problem found.
Subtitle:
Geneon Entertainment have selected a great font, very easy to read. They use green for the ending theme, the rest is yellow & white for Japanese signs & text. There are two tracks of subtitling. One track is for the sign subtitling & the other one is for the Japanese dialogue. I might note every odd numbered episodes, the intro & ending subtitles are in English, while the even numbered episodes are in Japanese original text on this volume.
Menu Option:
The menu is also in widescreen format, but if got just a regular full screen TV, it will display in that format with no problem. It remains the same, with the cherry blossoms, except for the screenshots in the back, reflecting the episodes in this volume. There is the "Play All", "Screen Access", "Set Up" & "Extras". When you selected any options, the menu makes a wave of cherry blossoms fly by. The music playing in the background is one of the music in the series. There is only music on the main menu, but the other section doesn't have any.
DVD Extras:
There is two version of the non-credit ending, the one that is used throughout the series, the other is the last episode. There is also the original Japanese credit ending as well. There is something else, too, which I find very strange, a little movie about Koshiro & Nanoka bears, which I don't get at all.
Packaging:
This is strange to have & quite a surprise. On the cover, it's a photo of the entire family when Nanoka was born. On the back, there is many screenshots from the episodes in this volume. The insert has the chapter listing, along a list of the volumes of this series. On the DVD disc itself, it's almost like a blanket with cherry blossons, with the two bears, which belongs Koshiro & Nanoka.
PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel. The sound is just great. The episodes are place on one single track as you play the episodes, so loading time is really small. You can fast forward to the first episode to the last episode with one move on your mouse! Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.
Overall DVD Rating:
It's strange to have these kind of feelings between a brother & a sister, but, as before, keep an open-mind, at things happen for a reason, but I don't know how to explain. The ending might shock you as most of us don't accept these kind of feelings. I feel that I don't know what to make of it, but this is for you to decide.
