Introduction:
A house of riddles!

Mysteries abound at the Hinata Apartments. When the rest money vanishes... Detective Kitsune takes the case.

Then there's a mysterious woman who appears when the moon is red. Her behavior is rather odd & now that you mention it she looks a lot like Kaolla. And is that an alligator?

Suddenly Naru's on the fast track to stardom when she becomes an idol singer. Will she be leaving the apartments for good? Will Shinobu & Motoko be joining her?

Then, Motoko finds her chi drained. Unable to utilized her martial arts powers, she becomes a shell of her former proud, confident self? Who is left to protect the Hinata Apartments from its greatest threat yet?

Contains Episodes:
  • Episode 09: The Case of the Missing Hinata Apartment Money: A Mystery
  • Episode 10: Who is the Beautiful Women Wandering in the Moonlight: Transformation
  • Episode 11: The Idol Shooting for Tokyo U is a Prep School Student: Sing
  • Episode 12: Changing After the Wedding? Swordmaster Motoko's Sunday Best: Feminine

  • Feature Presentation:
It keep getting funnier & strange with every episode I watch. You will get to know a but more about Kaolla & Motoko a little bit more. Though, it's getting a little unreal when there is a giant robot turtle on the loose. Plus, you get to see Naru hidden singing talent. Some of the other girls do sing as well. I really love Episode 12, I find it really funny & sweet. You will get to see Motoko without her martial arts costume! Sexy! Though, the piano background music sounds so familiar...

    Video:
Since it's totally CGI, the image is very very clear. I find no problem at all. It's sharp & the colors are so bright. Bandai Entertainment have really done a good job releasing it! Just hit "menu" option on your remote to skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc. All the episodes are divided in 4 parts, introduction, part one, part two & ending.

    Audio 01: English 2.0:
I think they fianlly fix the audio problem. The English track is now almost the same as the Japanese track. No more volume adjustments! Though, it's about 80% of the original Japanese. Dubbing is great!

    Audio 02: Japanese 2.0:
The Japanese track volume is now the same as the English track, yea!.

    Subtitle:
The same format, there are 2 tracks for subtitling, one is only for the subtitle of items that is shown in Japanese symbol, the other one is the actually subtitle for the Japanese audio track, as well as the items. The English subtitle is translated good. If only I can understand Japanese, then I could know for sure. The opening & ending theme have different color then during the show. Again, green doesn't work well.

    Menu Option:
Same thing, it's just a picture of the Hinata Apartment in the background. The other side, in a heart, there are 3 screenshots above, below, to select your options. There is the play all, language setting, the extra & select your scene from what episode, which is numbered 9 to 12. The only thing that might be annoying is that the main theme keep playing again & again! All animated.

    DVD Extras:
I think the extras keep changing, I find this one the best. "Keitaro's Sketchbook" isn't there anymore, replace by a interview with Yoshiki Iwasaki, the director of Love Hina. It even give a history how Love Hina came to be! "Character Photo Gallery" is now profiling "Shinobu Maehara" with screenshots of her. The rest are trailers for other Anime & the credit list of the DVD.

    Packaging:
The style is the same as the first 2 others DVD. This volume shows Keitaro & Shinobu. The back is really highly detailed. Cute pictures everywhere, some screenshots. Plus, the DVD case is a clear one, so when you open it up, you can actually see behind the cover, which adds to the presentation, an ad for Naru's singing at a concert. The insert have more information on "Shinobu Maehara". The DVD disc cover itself is the same as the cover.

    PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. The movie is place on one single track as you play the episodes, so loading time is really small, you can zip through all the episodes in one shot. Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.

    Overall DVD Rating:
With no clue about Keitaro's mystery girl on this DVD, we're going to have to wait for the next one!

Feature Presentation: Yet again, it continues to be cool! Motoko is so cute!
Video (Images) Behold the power of DVD, crisps & clear! No problem found.
Audio 01: English 2.0 Dubbing is great, almost similar to the Japanese version.
Audio 02: Japanese 2.0 The audio problem is now fixed, I think.
Subtitle: English A little bit more bolded, please!
Menu Option: If you like to hear the main theme over & over, you can!
DVD Extras: The interview with the director is really cool!
Packaging: Very very cool DVD case! Once of the nicest I have seen.
PC Viewing: Easy to view, clean, no problem!
Overall DVD Rating: It's well worth it. It's funny! If you can, get the Box Set box!
