Feature Presentation:
Though the series is over, right? Think again! Glad to see that Bandai Entertainment release & dubbed the final chapter. The strange relationship between Naru & Keitaro continued, Keitaro went off with Seta, then Kanako, Keitaro's little sister, showed up & took the job. Boy, she is one curious person. Though, these three episodes are a little more "naughty". Though, you sitll get the same fun, laughter & enjoyment like Su's weapons of mass terror, mecha turtles, Motoko' sword attacks & more. Will Keitaro & Naru finally get together in the end?
Video:
As all the Love Hina series, it's totally CGI, the image is very very clear. I find no problem at all. It's sharp & the colors are so bright. Bandai Entertainment have really done a good job releasing it! There is one thing different, all three episodes are all in different tracks this time. I don't know why they didn't keep it in one track. This means you will have a little pause when each episode moves to the next. Again, skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc by hitting "menu" on your remote.
Dubbing: English:
For some reason, I find the dubbing a little flat then the original Love Hina series, but maybe it's just me. I guess they were trying to get the characters more mature, since three years have pass. It's about 85% of the original Japanese.
Audio 01: English 2.0:
No problem found.
Audio 02: Japanese 2.0:
No problem found.
Subtitle:
The subtitle remains the same. There are 2 tracks for subtitling, one is use for Japanese symboles & signs, the other for the Japanese audio track. The fonts they use are quite readable & they pick the color quite well. Green for all the songs, yellow for the Japanese dialogue & while for symboles & sign (as well as additional Japanese dialogues). Also, all the odd numbers episodes, the introduction lyrics are in English & the even numbers episodes are the original Japanese text, for all of you who like to do some karaoke. All ending theme lyrics are both with English (green) & the original Japanese text (white).
Menu Option:
The menu is pretty simple. You get the Hinata Apartments in the background, with Keitaro right in the middle. There isn't much animation, just shots of the characters poping in & out. There is the "Play All", "Scene Selection", "Extras" & "Language Setting". The background music is the main theme.
DVD Extras:
There isn't much extras, but I find the outtakes really funny, but it's kinda short (could have put more). It also got the non-credit opening, as well for all three different ending.
Packaging:
The same style is still use just like the other releases of Love Hina. On the cover, you get to see all the girls of the Hinata Apartment chasing Naru & Keitaro. In the back, there are some screenshot, with a light background of Naru & Keitaro. Since it's a clear DVD case, you get to see the back of the cover, which is another option cover you can change if you don't like the current cover (though it reflected more of the series). The insert is the same picture as the cover, with a mini-poster with all the girls in the bath. The DVD cover is a sad picture of Naru with the Hinata Apartment in the back.
PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. As all the episodes are on different tracks, you can't fast foward though all the episodes together. Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.
Overall DVD Rating:
This is the final & ending of the Love Hina series. I hope you all enjoy it.
