Introduction:
Twice the Agents, twice the action & twice the fun!

A lull in Angel's activities makes active investigation difficult, so L/R gets assigned to retrieve a royal gem before the syndicate can smuggle it out of the country. Later Rowe attempts to relax & attend the first baseball game played in Ishtar. Unfortunately, he becomes trapped in an aerial tramway being buffeted by high winds with arguing passengers & an old man going into diabetic shock! Later, Jack investigates a connection between DTI's president & L/R's boss, Mister, while Rowe discovers the truth about Angel!

Contains Episodes:
  • Episode 08: Out of Phase
  • Episode 09: Suspended Game
  • Episode 10: The Discard

Feature Presentation:
Special thanks to Geneon Entertainment for sending a copy for a review for this site. The hunt for "Angel" still leads to no clue, but for now, they are assigned to retrieve a royal gem before the syndicate can smuggle it out of the country. Well, you get to see Rowe & it's talents for disguising himself, not enough to keep him out of trouble with the syndicate. After the mission is over, Rowe decided to take a relaxing time washing a baseball game, where Maurice is playing, which he is the best of the best. Bad luck for him, he got trapped in an aerial tramway with an old man going into diabetic shock. Don't worry, the two Agents will figure it out, along with Noelle, too. But, L/R's boss, Mister, is now in trouble & Jack is on a personal mission to find out if his boos got connected with the disliked DTI company. Yes, you know you hate them. At the end, Rowe finally figure out the truth about "Angel" & it will be a surprise to find out. The last episode on this volume, the ending theme match up with the end of the episode, which is really nice to see. Not to mention the funny preview when Rowe starts singing. Again, you get the special opening at the beginning on the first episode you see on this volume, just like the previous one.

Video:
Geneon Entertainment did a very great job. I found no problem, the image are clear & the color looks perfect. To top things off, the series is feature on Widescreen format. If you got a Widescreen TV, you're going to enjoy this even more. There is some watermarks done for the introduction & ending credits (they are translated in English). Also, you will only see three episodes on this volume, so one less then the previous. The first episode that comes up is separated into 6 parts: the prologue, the introduction, part A, part B, ending & the preview for the next episode, but the rest are separated into 5 parts: the introduction, part A, part B, ending & the preview for the next episode. Since all the episodes are on one single track on the DVD, there is no loading time or changing tracks when you move on to the next episode. I do note that you can skip all those warnings & logos when you first load the DVD by just pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control.

Dubbing: English:
Well, the fun thing about English dubbing, it makes a little more sence. The cast is well picked. Since the setting is somewhere in England or England-like town, most of all the cast are doing the voice with an accent! Oh, you get to see Rowe singing, too. It's so hilarious. It's about 80% of the original Japanese.

Audio 01: English 2.0:
No problem found.

Audio 02: Japanese 2.0:
No problem found.

Subtitle:
Geneon Entertainment have selected a great font, very easy to read, bolded I might added. They use green for the introduction & ending themes, the rest is yellow. However, there is only one subtitle track, just for the Japanese audio track. Well, there isn't much Japanese sign or texts to go around & the introduction is already in English, so I guess adding another subtitle track is pointless. Problem is that the ending theme is still in Japanese, so you need to turn on the only subtitle to have the lyrics. I might note that every even numbered episodes, the ending subtitles are in English, while the odd numbered episodes are in Japanese on this volume.

Menu Option:
The menu remains the same as the previous volume: simple, quite colorful & 60's style colors. There is moving clips back & forth, however, you might noticed that there is no clips related to the episodes on this volume. I guess the menu is the same for all. There is "Play All", "Screen Access", "Set Up" & "Extras". Selecting will make clips move around. The background music on the main menu is one of the background music in the series, however, the other sections got none.

DVD Extras:
This time, there is the original Japanese commercials for this series. Though, it's not in Japanese, but it's in English. I wonder why.

Packaging:
Keeping the same design as the previous volume, you get to see Jack & Rowe again with a interesting background that relates to the episodes on this volume. In the back, you get some screenshots from the episodes on this volume, with another nice picture from the main theme. You can also noticed the new logo "Geneon" along side with the old "Pioneer" name. The insert got the chapter listing with screenshots from the episodes, along with an original drawing of Jack & Rowe. Inside the insert, you get a mini-poster of Jack & Rowe, along with Noelle. On the DVD disc itself, it's just the same L/R logo as the cover, with the shadow of our Agents ready for some action. The color of some blue is now in use.

PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. In the menu, you need to click on the bar below the options in other to make it work. The episodes are place on one single track as you play the episodes, so loading time is really small. You can fast forward to the first episode to the last episode with one move on your mouse! Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.

Overall DVD Rating:
Now things are getting more interesting, though EPS 08 is a little off from the "Angel" problem. Though, it's not a surprise that DTI is actually involve & causing such problems, even they are doing good for the developpement of Ishtar. Will Jack & Rowe do their duties or doing what is right?

Feature Presentation: It's Rowe's turn to sing, well at the end that is.

Audio 01: English 2.0 No problem found!

Menu Option: Simple, 60's style!
