Feature Presentation:
Special thanks to ADV Films for sending a copy for a review for this site. This is the last volume of this Secret Agent series, involving more Humaritts. This time, one Humaritt actually rejects her master's decision. His friend, Yoshiki, is in danger, because he is running away with his lover, Serina. Problem is, Serina is a Humaritt & she will do anything to protect Yoshiki. Finally, we get to know who made all the Humaritts, Dr. Ren, but she isn't what she appears. Plus, there is a super powered Humaritt called X & a strange boy called Alpha seems to be in. Well, I don't know what else to say, but I really don't like the ending.
Video:
ADV Films did a very great job. I found no problem, the image are clear & the color looks perfect. The episodes are on a different track, so there will be a small loading time when you move on to the next episode. I do note that you can skip all those warnings & logos when you first load the DVD by just pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control.
Dubbing: English:
The dubbing is really great. The voice for Najica suit the role she plays, professional, yet sexy. They pick the cast very well. I did spot one problem in the dubbing, at the end of EPS 11, previewing the final episode, the dialogue seem to be cut off. It's about 80% of the original Japanese.
Audio 01: English 5.1:
Unable to test it, since I don't have a 5.1 surround system, I can't really say much.
Audio XX: English 2.0:
Just letting you know, there isn't an English 2.0 audio track on this DVD. This is artificially made from the 5.1 audio track, that's why I noted it as "XX". I found no problem with the audio, but I bet it would be alot more interesting with the 5.1.
Audio 02: Japanese 2.0:
No problem found.
Subtitle:
ADV Films have selected a great font, very easy to read. They use yellow for the introduction, ending themes & the Japanese dialogue & white for Japanese signs & text. There are two tracks of subtitling. One track is for the sign subtitling & the other one is for the Japanese dialogue. I might note that every odd numbered episodes, the intro & ending subtitles are in English, while the even numbered episodes are in Japanese, for you to do some karaoke!
Menu Option:
The menu remains the same, everything. The only exception is that the numbered episodes are reflecting the ones on this volume. There isn't a "Play All" feature, just a selection of one of the 4 episodes, "Screen Access", "Set Up" & "Extras". The main theme is playing in the background & the other section have different background music throughout the series.
DVD Extras:
Again, the same non-credit opening & ending. How many times we need this? It's the same for all three volumes & I find it a waste. There is also a commentary, again with Kira Vincent Davis (Najica) & Monica Rial (Lila), as well with David Willams, who is the director, for the final episode, so make sure you watch the series before checking this commentary. Well, as all the commentaries, nothing much by sillyness from them all. It sure funny to hear them talking about nothing related to the series. Oh, they forgot to beep out one bad language! There is one cool part in this extra, the Diligent Circle of Ekoda, which is a video clip on the band who did the introduction theme. Yup, you get another set of production sketckes, all related to the episodes on this volume.
Packaging:
Keeping the same style, here we go again with the all whire design. Another Najica shot, holding a gun, but this one isn't as sexy as the other two volumes. In the back, you get to see three screenshots (which is somehow, unrelated to the episodes on this volume). This time, there is a better decription, unlike the first volume, there is barely anything about the episodes in the volume. However, I think there is a little too much description. The insert is a picture of Lila, holding a gun, as well the list of chapters on this DVD. On the DVD disc, it's all white. Well, as I mention before, there are lots of panties shots throughout the series, mostly white panties. So you can understand why the package is mostly white! Yes, the DVD case itself is also white.
PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. Since the episodes are on different tracks, it will take time to load when you move on to the next episode. Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.
Overall DVD Rating:
Well, the final volume, which ends this cool series.
