Feature Presentation:
Down to the third volume & this one started to talk about the lesson of equal rights between male & female. I think it's the right thing to do, no? The male students of Hibiki's class finally got enough. What will Hibiki do? The other lesson is about love for another, the pain & joyful feeling. However, I didn't really like this volume as much as the first two. There is something strange here, not sure if you see this. When I view the DVD on the PC, the introduction is done by Miho Umeda, but viewing it on a regular DVD player, it's done by Seiko Kasuganomichi.
Video:
Geneon Entertainment did a very great job. They have taken the time to do it right. I found no problem, the image are clear & the color looks perfect. Each episodes are separated into 5 parts: the introduction, part A, part B, ending & the preview for the next episode! Since all the episodes are on one single track on the DVD, there is no loading time or changing tracks when you move on to the next episode. However, if you use the auto-replay track option on your DVD player, it will not work, it will just go back to the menu. I do note that you can skip all those warnings & logos when you first load the DVD by just pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control.
Dubbing: English:
The English dubbing is well done. They still kept the same format for dubbing as the first two volumes. No problem detected. It's about 85% of the original Japanese.
Audio 01: English 2.0:
No problem found.
Audio 02: Japanese 2.0:
The Japanese track is louder then the English track. Other then that, no problem found.
Subtitle:
Geneon Entertainment have selected a great font, yellow for the Japanese dialogue, white for the Japanese signs & texts, very easy to read. However, the opening theme, ending theme & Japanese songs played in the episodes are green & italic, which is a little hard to read, since green doesn't really pop up so easily.
Menu Option:
The format is the same as the first two volumes. Before you enter the menu, you will get a introduction from the female of "Hibiki Amawa" (in English) on how to run the menu. Looks familiar? Yup, a green board from your classroom with a rotating logo. Though, the music is out of place. Country anyone? The music stop for a while & it goes again after a minute or so. The menu is very simple & easy to move around.
DVD Extras:
There are 3 extras. This time, no more introduction with credit, it's now the little clips for commercials, you know, when one of the cast say "I My Me! Strawberry Eggs". You get them all here. The other one is really cool. The first two volume is Hibiki' students. Now, it's Gochiso residents turn. You guess it, it's where Hibiki's lives. Now, the male Hibiki gets a chance to be himself. It's only on audio, it will explain why. You can get some clips form the Manga version of this series popping in & out. I find it funny! By the way, you can see it in English & in Japanese. The last one is just a standard art gallery.
Packaging:
It's the same 2 main characters. Can they change it for one? You get to see the 2 main characters, Hibiki (female) & Fuko. However, I find the cover a little pale then the other two volumes. In the back, there's the school in the background with 3 of Fuko's classmates. The DVD disc itself is just a plain purple. The insert is a mini-poster, cute pictures on it, along with the episode list & translation of some Japanese terms.
PC Viewing:
Watching it on the PC is the same as watching it on the TV. Very clean, no problem at all, very little pixel (little squares popping in & out), both normal mode & full screen mode. The sound is just great. The episodes are place on one single track as you play the episodes, so loading time is really small. You can fast forward to the first episode to the last episode with one move on your mouse! Like on your regular DVD player, you can skip the warnings & logos when you load the disc, just use the "menu" option to go to the menu screen.
Overall DVD Rating:
I can't want to see what happen after the last episode on the disc. Well, if you got the first two, keep it up & watch the rest. You got to find out the ending, right?
